If you’re looking for a graceful, low-key, deep house and chill-wave inspired festival, look no further than Crssd. Located in sunny San Diego, this newly emerged festival is barely getting warmed up. Not even big enough to have its own Wikipedia page, this festival is only 2 years deep and the crowd response is phenomenal.
Crssd features the newest as well as most well known artists in deep house, chillwave, tropical house, new-disco, neo-synth-pop, and even some indie rock sprinkled in for good measure. Some of the artists that have performed are Empire of the Sun, Chromeo, Zhu, Aluna George, Odesza, Tycho, Flight Facilities, Chet Faker, Gorgon City, Justin Martin, the Flaming Lips, and more. This contemporary festival also has a lot of up and coming artists, which is refreshing and original.
According to OCWeekly, this is the, ”Anti-rave for the mature electronic crowd” and the 21+ age requirement reflects that claim. The official website also discourages rave gear such as kandi and furry leg warmers. This is a festival with very mellow undertones, a clean environment and, not to mention, great San Diego craft brews.
It has a cozy and comfortable 15,000 people capacity, and has sold out last spring. This festival is a must for those who want a little less bass-heavy EDM but still want to dance and explore new artists in an otherwise slightly underground scene. It is located on the waterfront in downtown San Diego where picturesque oceanside sunsets are a given. Get ready for a sound that drips gold in a cool-vibed environment. Keepin it classy in america’s finest city? Don’t mind if we do!
